What strikes me is the dis-unity we have in politics today. It is not about what is good for the country it is about being politically correct with your party. Neither party conducts bipartisan politics. For a moment after 9/11 both parties united and that gave We The People hope and courage during distressing times. It did not take long to start playing the blame game on both sides of the aisles.
Elected officials should support what they feel is the best road for the country. Instead they are encouraged to go along with the party line or not gain influence in their party.
I commend the Democratic "Blue Dogs" for standing up to their principals not the parties in the health care debate. Keep it going.
If our elected officials don't work together we don't move forward.
A word of caution to the Democrats, the last time you had a majority you tackled health care and failed causing you to waist the majority. Doesn't history repeat itself every time.
